Last year's English Eccentrics Guest Designer, Katherine Wardropper, wins Pulse Design Award 2007
2 July 2007
We are very pleased to announce that Katherine Wardropper, our guest designer for the Autumn//Winter 2006 season, has won the ‘Most on Trend Product’ at this year’s Pulse Design Awards.
The Pulse Design Awards recognize designers who display excellence in product design and innovation and represent a prestigious accolade. Katherine was chosen as winner by Josa Young, Editor and Writer for Vogue.com, from a shortlist of top designers.
Katherine Wardropper makes beautiful handmade fashion accessories from corrugated loops of fabric which are placed together to form three dimension patterns. From these intricate patterns she creates her own special brand of ‘Wearable Art’ and ‘Wall Hangings’. With a feather light density the pieces echo the pleated forms of Elizabethan ruffs and seventeenth century lace patterns.

Katherine was a guest designer for English Eccentrics ‘Fairy Tale of London’ Collection, creating a range of brooches, belts, hair accessories and necklaces in red, white and black.
English Eccentrics designer, Helen David said “we were so impressed with the originality of Katherine’s work whilst she was with us that we invited her to be our first ever guest designer. She exhibited her collection at our Kentish Town Studio in October 2006 and it was very well received. We are delighted to hear that the Pulse Design Awards have also recognised Katherine’s contribution to fashion.”
